  • Better dust collecting on my Excalibur scrollsaw

To improve the original low suction under the table of my Excalibur scrollsaw, I made a small veneer box , easily removable and hold by some magnets under the table . For the aspiration I use this nozzle connected to my Delta dust collector, which is also used for my band saw and column drill.

It is fixed under the table with its 4 magnets, and that enters in the small box easily removable. The hose is 2.5' dia. int.
This little box is also attached to the bottom by a small magnet as well as its front cover, which can be easily removed for a blade change!

I added to the back of the box a piece of wood and plastic held in place by the same magnet as the box , to close the opening as much as possible and thus a better suction

The suction tests are conclusive and a lot more than the original! No dust falls under or on the table.

Now I can start my new clock project....

Do you have some kind of drawing or plan that others may duplicate? Much easier than starting from the beginning, as you have already completed the difficult parts!
    Would be most appreciated!

Sorry Mike but I did not have any plans of my box. Very simple 1/4 " veneer box. And just seeing that box and principle of adjustment should be OK.

I had adjust to my machine, and I had even to cut a little bit of the degree handle , so the box may be insert at his place.

The slot at the back is just large enough for the blade arm .

But ...but ... ......just for you I draw rapidly that :

      Hope it help !

Well well well ! I just cut some wood pieces at my scrollsaw for one hour and...... NO , I said No dust or wood debris on the table, and even in the small box nothing at all , zero debris or dust! Everything goes in the dust collector ! Nothing on the ground or on me !

Work better than I had expected ! Very happy!

            Clock project is started.....
