Welcome to the Upgraded Canadian Woodworking Forum
We have upgraded the Forum to the latest version of vBulletin - version 5.2. While the appearance of the Forum has changed somewhat, the process of viewing and posting remains pretty well the same.
We ask for your patience, as there may be some glitches over the coming weeks as we fine tune the site and add new modules.
I believe Island Woodcraft and KMS Tools both sell the scorp, but they're out in BC. Chipping Away sells some Pfeil, but I've never seen the scorp there. There's a guy with a large selection who usually turns up at Ontario woodshows. I've bought stuff from him, but his name escapes me.
Kathy is working on a djembe drum. We've done the basic hollowing, but now it needs to be refined a bit. I don't have a tool that will reach down in there and do that with the grain. If I can't find a scorp I'll have to haul out the forge and make one. It's one of those time versus money things, so I thought I would ask first about buying a scorp.
Wood Hoarder, Blade Sharpener, and Occasional Tool User
Been there and done that. Unless the wood she is using is really soft the scorp will only scrape dust off the shell and get frustrating really fast. Here's a link that will show you what kind of tools would be ideal for the task. I enquired about the possibility of them selling individual items from the kit but unfortunately they don't. http://www.drumskulldrums.com/en2/22...hp?ProdID=1647
Their prices seem a bit far-fetched but these guys know their stuff and I can attest that their instruments are top quality - the tools look pretty good in the photos.
