    weeping caragana is a quite common ornamental shrub, ours died last year, so i stashed it away.



    so i made a couple of pens, sierra and cigar kits
    you never know whhat they are going to look like!!

    ive also used japanese maple and lilac in the past

      The Caragana wood (Siberian Pea shrub) can be quite nice Steve, I have some that is spalted and the colors are real nice, to bad it does not grow to a bigger size, the pieces I have are just over a 1 ½”.

      Over here in town the Caragana are all shrubs, they can easily become a nuisance as it will spread and is hard to control, good that you are able to use the wood .

        the trunk of ours is big enough to quarter and each quarter is enough for a pen
        marrianne planted that tree 22 yrs ago!
