    Re: end grain olive hollowform

    Hi Lisa,

I’m not much of a turner but I really do like this olive turning, especially the grain.
In my quest to examine the grain more closely, I downloaded the picture and ran it through a photo editing program and what it reveled was stunning.

If you’re offended by my re-editing your photo, please forgive me and remove my post. My intention was to try and reveal the beauty of the grain and workmanship of the piece, not to offend.

Very nice piece, congrats on the choice of material and the workmanship.

    Gord

Wow thanks Gord, it looks great! I was trying to light it better.

I saw your thread of the turning process. I can imagine it's quite stressful making sure you turn it thin "enough" and not "too much". It looks great! A friend turned an Olive wood pen for my wife some years ago. Even after some years the aroma was still quite nice.
