  • need help with this burl

    Need some help on what to do with this other than send it to me comments. Thats how I got it. Any suggetions on how to chuck this would be appreciated. It is about 4" thick on one end and goes down to nothing. Its about 15" x 20". i think it is elm or ash

    Need more pictures Allan, bottom and sides, it does look like a bunch of spot burls rather than a large burl, but we can’t see that clearly.

    Not easy to visualize what you have with just 2 pictures, need to see the bottom and the slopes of it, and even then it will be hard to give some ideas of how or what, sorry.

      At fifteen to twenty inches it would seem that putting it on a lathe would destroy the uniqueness of the individual burls. Consider a wall hanging or stool back in a way that features the burls. Maybe a little sand blasting and chisel work to soften the cut edges.
