  • Deciding on a Table Saw

Hello everyone, I'm having a hard time deciding on a new table saw.

    Features I'm looking for:
    • Body mounted trunnions
    • Dust collection
    • Decent motor
    • Quality
    • Budget 1,000-2,000 range
    • 120V upgradable to 240V
    • Mobility
    Here are my top 4:

    King $1,639
    https://www.kingcanada.com/en/produc...p-fence-system
The bigger motor needs to be on 240V. Big motor! It has a nice fence and dust collection. Are these saws of good quality? Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UCaoKk9Rj4

    Laguna Fusion F2 $1619
    https://lagunatools.com/classic/tablesaws/f2/
Should I be concerned about the 1.75HP motor? It has a mobile base. I have 240V available in the future if I ever wanted to upgrade. I wanted this saw from day one. Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYy5YAFx23g

    Craftex CX212 $1399
    https://www.busybeetools.com/product...cx-series.html
2HP motor, more than 1.75HP. Will that even be noticeable? Quality issues? I don't see anyone online using this saw.

Craftext CX213 $2479 (Out of my budget)
    https://www.busybeetools.com/product...raftex-cx.html
This saw appears to be the same as the Laguna F2 without the euro fence but with a bigger motor. It's out of my price range but would the Laguna be a better deal?

I’d get the King. It will do everything the others do but with power to spare.
    Cheers

If it doesn't need to be completely new, used Unisaws come up often on the market. 3HP, built well and last decades. Just a thought...

I think you can get that Laguna with a larger motor too, 240V? F3?

There is a 1.75 hp Laguna on Kijiji in Ontario for $850 right now if you can get a rucker...

          https://www.kijiji.ca/v-power-tool/b...saw/1501037744

If I was buying a new saw, and motor power was equivalent, between king and laguna, I'd probably get the Laguna just because I think the finish is likely better,

That said. Unless I needed it today, I'd wait for a good used saw, maybe a Delta or maybe a General... maybe even an "R" model with a riving knife, or just a really clean 350 or 650.

          Good luck

Gee if you were in the London ontario area I have a Unisaw with 3 hp motor that would only cost you 500. Not that mobile unfortuately

Is there any reason that the Stallion from CWI wasn't included in the list?

I did have a look at them. Not sure why they didn't make the list. Maybe because of the smaller motor.

To the OP, this is a Delta Unisaw shown with 48" rails, $1,200 . If it is accessible to u GRAB IT! Identical to mine bought used for $1,300 several years ago.
