I think there are several points made there and I can't argue with any of them.

I'm ok with what he is saying, but the tone in which it's being said is what bothers me.

Shouldn't this be in the Power Tools section?

Those seem like very liberal points.

                          Re: .........

I was going to ask (and in fact did) for suggestions on a veneer substrate other than MDF, for a side table.

Much to my shock I can’t currently buy 3/4 or even 5/8 MDF locally, the big boxes aren’t even taking orders. I have some good Maple ply but that seemed a bit of a waste.

I did find some MDF at one of the local trailer repair places though, so…..

Who on earth ever imagined that MDF of all things would be in short supply?

I would be nice if the world could manage without it.
I heard recently it is the most difficult product to dispose of environmentally friendly, it is single use, then a lot of chemical to go in the land fill, the discussion I heard said worse than polystyrene as polystyrene can be recycled not MDF.
To answer Jim, MDF is the most stable, the flatist, the best for face screwing and gluing apart from real wood, but heavy and no good near any water.
