      Okay, I understand that all of us have reasons for doing what we do. Seriously, though, I know you'd mentioned that you had a lot of cherry kicking around, but... cherry for a painted base?!

      Please don't tell us that you're planning to paint the tabletop as well.

      Again, this is only my thoughts, and this isn't my table. But what a waste of such lovely wood.

          We did contemplate not painting the base but there were a few mistakes and some wood filler helped to hide them. White lacquer helped to hide all that. In the end this table will serve us well and the customer loves it so all is good.

            Great job with this table, Peter! I've selected this thread for our next "Best Build" winner, and Lee Valley has send Peter a shiny new Veritas Dual Marking Gauge.
