  • Air Intake port with damper

I am looking for a 5 inch diameter air intake port with damper. Most intake ports that I have seen only have a screen to keep bird out. I’ve taken a look at most of the retail stores as I want it to look not industrial.

So far, The best one I found is at HD and they call it they’re heavy duty wall hood mount. On the package it says remove damper for air intake. But I want the damper.

What about if you added a piece of pipe on the inside and then added a damper in it like what is in most round ducts in houses to control airflow.
If you want me to make it i need this new tool first

Hi Matt, the issue for gravity dampers ( non motorized) is that they require so much pressure to open that they usually cause problems with air infiltration from undesired areas.

They are normally only used in a positive pressure environment such as fan exhaust.....Rod.

        Use a dust collection gate?

A little bit of construction adhesive and bandsaw.
