    Thoughts on Oneida 5HP Pro-2000

I'm considering picking up an older Oneida 5HP Pro-2000 unit. I'm told it's single phase 19.8amp so I'm assuming a 30amp circuit would do it.

Anyone have any experience with these units? I currently have a 2HP King Cyclone and I'm not super happy with the separation. From what I gather, the smaller asian Cyclones like the King are based on a design that are not ideal.

My shop is in an average size 2 car garage and I have 26 gauge 6" duct work to all the tools with 5" or 4" drops where appropriate.

Thoughts? Seller is asking $500 and is currently used in a paper shredding setting.

I saw that and considered going for it... I have a similar era Oneida 2HP and wouldn't mind more... but this one is too tall for my current shop... Can't lose at $500.

Great price. Ask if the motor bearings have ever been greased. My 3 hp has 2 zerk fittings that I didn't know it had. Motor should run quiet with no bearing noise.

The 5 hp motor alone is probably more than $500. There is a large array of fittings and filters on the open market, probably cheaper than Oneida , to get it up and running.

Again, size the circuit according to HP amperage. 30 should do it, but check the starting current draw for the specific motor model.

You'll need the HEPA filters and associated connections from Oneida in order to run it without exterior venting, so price that from Oneida and if it's acceptable, run and get it. They're great machines.
