  • Pentz 16" Blower Plan ?

The 16" blower plan on Bills website has red and blue lines just inside the perimeter of the blower housing. Am I correct in assuming that the inner blue line is the cutout line for the template and the red line will be outside edge of the routed groove where the metal for the housing sits in.

    Thanks, Chuck

I remember when Ed Thomas designed that for my cyclone build. If I remember correctly you cut out the template to the blue line and the red line is the location of the groove for the side of the blower housing.

Here you can see where I cut along the blue line.

Then I glued it to a piece of 1/4" hard board to make a template.

I then ran a router around it with a 1/8" bit using a collet to route the groove for my sheet metal sides.

I have a few more pictures of the build from this exact template if it will help you.

I just went back thru my e-mails with Ed from 2009 and I used a 1/2" collect with a 1/8" router bit to cut the groove.

Thanks for the reply Alan. That's how I thought it worked. I plan on making the blower out of CNC plasma cut 18 gauge steel and then tig welding it together and need the outside dimensions of the blower to create the CNC cut file.

        Thanks again for the help.

That's it. The CNC guys can delete the inner line, or I could send a clean file for them.

                Hi Matt

I have read your build thread several times...very nice job.

I have built a few Pentz cyclones for myself and a few friends over the years but wanted to make a few changes in this version. CNC plasma cut rolled steel, a flanged gasketed inlet and outlet and flanged cyclone barrel to cone. Getting the files modified to what I want has been a bit of a pain.
