Question Where Can I get Tool Batteries rebuilt in the Toronto area

One of the two NiCad batteries for my Festool TDK 12 volt drill has pack it in and the cost of new one (without tax and shipping) is $92. :( And you thoguht that their tools were expensive. :(

I expect that I can get the battery packs rebuilt somewhere for a lot less than that. I would like to hear from anyone in the Toronto area who has had a tool battery pack rebuilt and is happy with the place that did the job.
    Cheers,
    Frank

Frank; there is an outfitin Buckhorn ON that can do that for you, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of the Company. If you go back on my posts some time ago, I know I posted a thread when I read an article with respect to them in the Toronto Star. Or wait till I find it tomorrow for you.

Thanks, but I don't see anything on their web site about rebuilding battery packs. They list replacement packs for lots of tool manuafactureers but not for Festool.

I have written to them asking about Festool support and about rebuliding packs.

    Frank:
You might have a look at this place. I heard good things about them when they were "Radio Shack" And there has to be an outlet near you.

Thanks Tony, there is a shop about a five minute walk from my house.

Ididn't know that they rebuilt batteries. Cordless drill batteries are specifially mentioned at the link you provided, so I expect that they can do the job. I will drop in tomorrow and find out.

    Default Rebuilding batteries

    Frank,
I bought two (batterybuyer.com) for my Ryobi Torque Force 12V, they were not the exact configuration (Sears packs) so I took the top off my old packs put them on the new packs with slight modification and voila at $25.00 each I have another useable drill. I'm very happy with them!
They use Panasonic top of the line cells with a high milliamphour capacity, give them a shout before the woodshow circuit gets busy, they may be able to rebuild them for you.
    Best Regards
    Pete

    Hi Frank

I know that this place is far from the Toronto area, but I have mailed portable drill batteries to them for rebuilding and have been very pleased with the results.
