Re: How to preserve wood from a dead tree?
I know what you mean. I picked up some maple and beech a while ago. Part of the maple tree was dead. The logs that were cut green were all checked by the time I got to them but the dead logs were completely solid even after having been cut to 12" lengths and sitting in the open for several days.
I cut them in half and sealed the ends just to be safe.
