My mother reported her hummers were back on Wed.

That is a week or so early for them...usually we use mother's day as the mark of when the feeders should go up...I guess we will get ours up today

Then it's back to shop mudding for me....

Where we live here in BC the OK they have arrived on an average of Apr. 15th this yr. it was the 21st and as of a few days ago there are so many we put up the sec. 2 lt. feeder. With the nights getting down to freezing they line up until dark to fill up for the night. ruby throat, green backs, black chin and rufus are the kinds we get here.

    Mine arrived today 2

First a female showed up about four this afternoon, set up the camera and caught the male about twenty minutes later... three days earlier than last year.

Heavy crop through a dirty window but I got him...

    First male.jpg

And this morning I caught a female yellow bellied sapsucker, the first sighting in 28 years in this location.

They finally decided to visit my house. It was a Green Violate-er that came calling. Visited about 4 times and as he kept comming back I decided to get out the camera and take a photo.

They are really amazing to see them hover around and fast as a whip.
